About Me
Basic Background:
Born April 3rd 1981, from Lusk. Went to school in Lusk and Skerries. I finished college eventually in 2004 and now am the proud(?) posessor of a B.A. from Trinity College Dublin(must be said with a posh upper middle class west Brit accent) in Chemistry and an MSc in Science communication from Dublin City University. After a lot of time spent in retail (4 years in Sky Music, a summer in Busch Gardens and 2 and a half years in HMV) I moved on to bigger and better things. I work for a UK collaboration called GridPP as their Events Officer, which means I deal with all dessimination they do. It’s fun and means I now live in London. I sleep in Brixton and work in Mile End.
Music Taste:
ROCK/METAL in all its forms. I like Dragonforce, Arch Enemy, Viking Skull, Zero Cipher, Raging Speedhorn, Charger, Murder 1(UK), One Minute Silence, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, 3 Inches Of Blood, Stand Up Guy, X-Constant, Broken Oath, Co-Exist, TOOL, Megadeth, Slayer, 3 Stages Of Pain, Johnny Truant, The Beatles, Celtic Legacy, Dillinger Escape Plan, Five Knuckle, Caffeine, Green Day, ICP, Man Must Die, Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring (pre-Americana), Presidents Of The United States Of America, Stamping Ground, Sikth, PDHM, Vandals, Dragonforce and I wil add more.
Movies:
Almost anything by Kevin Smith, havenâ??t seen Jersey Girl so Iâ??m not going to pass judgement yet. So I like: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, A Hard Days Night, Help, Yellow Submarine (yes the last three are The Beatlesâ?? films), Monty Python stuff(NOT Meaning Of Life, just donâ??t like it), Belleville Rendezvous was good, LOTR trilogy. Charlie Chaplinâ??s feature films, Spirited Away (need to some time off to see Amelie), George Of The Jungle (I challenge you to not love this film), Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Shrek 1 & 2. Mostly comedy and light hearted stuff and Iâ??m a sucker for a kids flick.
Television:
Again as with films comedy: Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Little Britain, M*A*S*H*. and Kids: Fairly Odd Parents, Nedâ??s Newt, Teen Titans, Kids Next Door, Johnny Bravo. And can’t forget Firefly!
Books:
I inhale all of Terry Pratchettâ??s ouput heâ??s just brilliant. Same with Ian Rankin who I inadvertently have got into since a visit to Edinburgh with my girlfriend. Books of note outside these authors though are Generation Kill, No Logo, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland(and Through The Looking Glass), King Solomnâ??s Mines, Ragged Trousered Philanthropist, A Peopleâ??s History Of The US, The Harry Potter series. I have also got into a load of the classics recently(see Peter Pan and Alice above) theyâ??re sold for 2.25Euro here cause theyâ??re out of copyright so Iâ??ve read and loved The Phantom Of The Opera, lots of Jules Verne and many more. Don Quixote sucked and I couldnâ??t finish it.
