I’ve seen RSJ a few times now as support. They’re friends of Gurdy’s and they’ve supported Zero Cipher and Berzerker before and have been great every time.
This time I was aiming to see them so it was a nice change. Gurdy came along and we grabbed a pint beforehand while waiting for them to come on and headed down just after 8. We did get to see the second support Losing Sun from Northampton who had brought along a posse. Sort of a mix of styles from the 90s including American rock and Nu metal(I know I know), they were OK actually. I was pleasantly surprised and I wouldn’t be uber disappointed if they were support again.
RSJ are from York and are heavy as a bag of spanners. They are extreme metal with a groove and some melody. I don’t know any of their stuff but their tunes have a great back bone from the drums and bass and the vocalist are just right (i.e no clean vocals). I picked up the EP and album after the show and the CDs hold up to the love show.
