So I travelled again. This time to my second home Glasgow. I was going to stay in a mate’s house but that was too much hassle as he was in Edinburgh and I’d be too wrecked to be messing around. I flew to Prestwick and got the train in and checked into the Eurohostel which Sarah and I have stayed in before but this time I was in a 14 bed dorm room. Got myself a padlock dumped some stuff in the locker and went scouting around Glasgae. I’d been here just a week before with Sarah so I didn’t hang around too much, bought a few things, tempted by more (Sabbath post Ozzy period). To be honest I was tired about two hours before the gig so popped into the TV room with me book and chilled out.

The SECC is walking distance(40mins or so) but decided to get the train which was like £1.10 return which goes as close as door to door as you can with a train. The SECC is a nice setup Aiken and The Point could learn a lot from it. When I got in I grabbed a sweatband as I’d lost one at Dragonforce and rambled on in. Sadly caught the end of Trivium again but thankfully I didn’t see much.

Tonight the turn around was very quick and Maiden were on stage before I was there long. Tonight Maiden were again playing the same setlist and I was down the back. Half expecting the usual reception from the “hardcore” (read: old) fans. As Maiden got up and running giving it 100% as usual the crowd gave it straight back. This was a real surprise but fooking great. The crowd were clapping along, singing, enjoying every minute. Of course the place exploded once they had done AMOLAD and started Fear Of The Dark.

I’ve mentioned it before but I’m not a big fan of these classics. I’d prefer war themed tracks like Paschendale or The Trooper, actually anything a little less old to be honest. This show was great best on the tour? Well three more to go.
