From a Gig Review post:
Support:
All That Remains
Firewind

Well just over a month ago I saw these guys in Dublin, while I was home for the weekend, and Sarah came along. Even she enjoyed the show that night, I mean it is basically just high powered, fast cheesy metal performed with a cheeky grin.

Now unlike in Dublin where I saw the support act (Fireland) tonight I skipped the supports. Firewind are meant to be good but the were before All That Remains and I wasn’t going to see them.

So what was different about this London show? To start it was sold out (12th sold out in a row as Dragonforce pointed out) but also there were real attention seekers in attendance. Now I don’t mean the usual haircut trendy wankers that are at theses things(actually very few in the Astoria tonight) I’m talking about the “Trampoline girls” a roadrunner/myspace competition allowed girls the chance to “warm up” the crowd before the guys came onstage. Tonight this consisted of three scantily clad ladies, two trampolines and signs saying “Tits” and “Out”. Now this sounds great and I suppose it was nice eye candy but as they were “fans” this meant that for the rest of the show these bimbos were standing off to one side of the stage trying to get everyone’s attention and generally being annoying.

Forget that crap anyway, how were Dragonforce? They were really, really good but no as great as the TBMC about two years ago or the Ambassador show last month, crowd just didn’t seem to be up for it as much. They played for about an hour and a half like in Dublin, I’m sure it was the same setlist and they were giving it socks just not they same vibe as before. I’m off to see them again tomorrow how will that compare?

Later days,
Halo.
