Dub Trio
Didn’t really see much of the first lot. A local band seemed OK but nothing amazing. Dub Trio were different, a trio(hence the name) from New York with no vocals just guitar, bass and drums playing rock with Reggae/Dub backbone. Bass was the lead instrument but it was quite low in the pretty muddy mix. Interesting, I may check out some recorded output.
So I’d already seen Skindred this year at Pitchshifter, Uxfest and in Redhill but sure I decided to see ’em again. They didn’t disappoint pretty sure they played the same set as the other two headline slots but it is mighty entertaining and they do know how to work a crowd. The crowd was pretty good and a decent size considering how much they’ve played this year. I’d go see them again….. oh wait I did a few days later in Glasgow see the next gig review.
