I don’t know missed him (OK I did see him on stage but needed to go to the jacks, alright?)

Ah David Kitt my girlfriend hates you but I adore you’re first EP and Album for their genuine subtlety and class. I have everything he’s done since then except the new album but I don’t know them very well. I have tried to listen to The Black And Red Notebook (the covers album) but it seemed dire tripe, including the cover of Dancing In The Moonlight.

So what was I to expect tonight? I’ve seen him once before at the Trinity Ball but I was a little wasted but I do remember it a bit and I have heard he rocks out live not like his early albums.

He opens with a track I don’t know (theme of the night) in full band mode which is very much not acoustic and only drops into solo acoustic mode for 3/4 songs. It is a great gig despite the lack of familiarity with the material and he is a great entertainer and song smith so I shouldn’t be surprised. I will be checking him out again when he comes back I *may* even buy the new album. The audience were well behaved to with no inappropriate talking/shouting etc which can mar acoustic shows and his shows in particular in the UK. If he’s playing your local pub (very likely in Ireland) pop along you will be entertained.

Later days,
Halo.
