OK first these guys are mates of mine. I saw them first a year or seven ago in 1999 supporting The Offspring. Since then I’ve only seen them twice both times in the same weekend in Scotland (Glasgow and Aberdeen in Dec 2003) and they were alcohol fuelled times :-). The lineup from seven years ago and three years ago were different but now they are still on the same three guys as in 2003.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t see a different band this time, the evolution from 1999 to 2003 was nothing compared to the change from 2003 to 2006.
They were technically supporting a band called Kingsize who were atrocious but the first band on Area 15 (I think) we’re actually very good a little generic (OK a lot generic) but they could play, sound was good, some innovation and they could do something.
They are more pop, not in a bad way and seem to be enjoying playing live so much more. They literally bounced around the stage giving it socks. I haven’t had a chance to rip their new CD to MP3 yet but about three songs are reworkings of older tunes. I’ll probably not listen to it till after my PUSA extravaganza this weekend, 3 days, 3 cities, 1 band.
