Gig Review – Sikth, Pitz, Milton Keynes, 13/10/06

Support:
Architects
Dead Man In Reno

New venue for me nice place too… pity about the town Milton Keynes is a shithole DO NOT GO THERE if you can help it. I learned a lesson this time (fully outlined in main post) I probably be back but getting a taxi from the train station and back.

Architects were good, Brighton boys like the Johnny Truant guys and their noise is similar. Was a decent support act but not sure if I’d buy a CD/go to a headline show/make sure I caught them at the next Sikth show(Mean Fiddler, London).

Dead Man In Reno are American from Alabama (they told us this at least four times :-?) anyway they were heavy and had some genuinely head nodding tunes not amazing but I will have another look at the next Sikth show.

Sikth, oh what can ya say about Sikth? It has been two and a half years since I saw them supporting Akercocke and they slayed that time and this time ….. Well what can I say but amazing. Mixing old and new and including the poem off the end of “The trees are dead…”. They got the place going despite the relatively small showing and when I steped out into the dark, misty night air I was waiting for more which was less than a week away :-D.
