Bulls On Parade at TBMC, January 2005

From a Gig Review post:
Didn’t get back till midnight last night after the Bulls On Parade gig so didn’t bother posting. There was no need either. OK hanging out with Ken, Sam, Dom,Tadhg, Wendy and Martin was cool. There was one problem, or should I say three? The support bands were horrible. “Can’t spell fuck without you”? this was a lyric from one band and the sound was so sub par RATM it hurt, really hurt. The main act, hmmm, lets say if I subscribed to the theory that if you can’t say anything nice say nothing at all then this post is over. Ah Ha good thing I don’t. The guitarist obviously could do one or two of Morello’s tricks and I do me only one or two, shit. Vocalist was OK but really hadn’t studied Zach. The bassist had only RATM bassline which while important aint exactly rocket science so he pulled them off. He was however following the drummer’s lead who seemed to ensuring the tempo never reached the heights it should. Bulls On Parade, Guerilla Radio and others had their heart, soul and goose bump creating sound pulled out of them. I did get kinda excited but that’s only cause I know the RATM stuff backwards. They did play Clear The Lane a track only available on RATM’s Live & Rare import CD which was cool but sorta stopped what little momentum they had cause not many people knew it.
So in conclusion I will not be paying to see that lot again.
Oh yeah work today, well it was OK, hands had a good layer of black on them from the cleaning etc I did, you could eat your dinner off the stands at the end of the DVD browsers if you wanted to. Just one more shift then off to a weekend long PARTAY in my mates and some quality time with the girlfriend.
Link Of The Day:
Metal Hammer for two reasons a) this month’s issue rocks, great CDs and great content and b) on the website they have a link to hear the new Judas Priest single!!!!! I aint heard it yet cause my computer is having a freak out when I try to but I’ll hear it soon.
Later Days,
Halo
