I Do Not Want This

Well as far as this blog goes I’ve had a little cleanup. The links were getting messy and long on the right hand side so I moved them to a links page. I also added the last.fm plugin showing the last 10 songs played in winamp —>. The creation of the links page was a little nightmare-ish because you couldn’t post php in wordpress 1.5 pages so I had to install a plugin to get it to work and it was all fine and dandy. Then Al told me you could implement php if you used WordPress 2.0 and the HTML box so I upgraded. Then trying to get the page to work again using the HTML box was annoying but I got it done so it looks like I want it to now, will work new themes and is easily extendable for more categories etc. I am working on something else but we’ll see if it works out first before I announce it :-D.

As you can see from my “Currently Enjoying” box –> I’m back on the M*A*S*H buzz working my way thorugh Series 5 – 8 slowly since I got here, only half way through 6! The book is Freakonomics which I stole from Sean is well good, heartily recommended. It’s about economic cause and effect but by asking strange questions such as “What do sumo wrestlers and teachers have in common?”, get it now! The album is still Inhuman Rampage if only cause I haven’t bought music in ages, it’s a bit more hassle than the old days in HMV. Also nothing really exciting has come out recently.

Well tomorrow there should be a gig review because I’m off to see BioMechanical and CoExist play the Underworld (I know they’re thinking of charging rent I’m there so often). Not sure about BioMech to be honest but CoExist are going to slay. Check out the t-Shirts they’ll be a-selling:

In work I’ve been working on some flash animation which I think is quite good considering I’d never used the blasted thing till recently. This is just a temporary one to see what my boss thinks and what can be improved. The other project is a power point template for A1 posters to be used by the collaboration. I didn’t make it (we have designers for that) but I did make most of the suggestions. We’re just waiting on the final version and I’ll link it for all you curious cats.

Weekend was fun we saw Alex’s piece, ha ha, I can see why/how they could do a bloopers reel. Actually it is online see it here. It’s great and educational. The only thing was that beforehand we had gone to see the rugby (Wales Vs Italy, Alex and Rich are welsh) and had had a pint or two, so was a little merry, we didn’t get asked to leave though :-). Sunday was a sit around and do nothing day, just watched WickerMan. It was OK if you like that sort of thing, religious bigots, unsubtle pagans, crappy dialogue, no atmosphere and a “twist” seen coming from a long way. I know Al will disagree, but at least I can say I’ve seen it. We also got “How To Get Ahead in Advertising” free with one of the Subday papers and that’s meant to be good so it may get a spin.
