From a Gig Review post:

Support:
Mirimar Disaster

As I mentioned in a previous post I got these free (twice actually). I’m not a fan of Will haven but I’ve seen them before actually. Before a UK tour supporting One Minute Silence many years ago they played a few Irish dates with Sugar Coma (ugh) and Cyclefly (yay) and Al was going to TBMC at the time so we got in for free. Enjoyed that gig but didn’t make me a Will Haven fan.

Anyway Gurdy and Tuck from the RSH board were to be at the gig (big fans) so headed up early enough and caught The Mirimar Disaster (who are on Undergroove). I was honestly impressed, the set was instrumental and heavy, I grabbed their CD (not instrumental) and it’s brilliant.

Now Will Haven have a new vocalist and new album to support but they seemed to pick songs from their entire career and the fans seemed to love the new guy too. Their energy and obvious joy to just be playing was infectious. They put on a great show, the songs were great and they’ve won me over. I was going to grab a CD but they were only selling the new one so I’ll grab one at a later date (Gurdy recommends WHVN). I think it’ll be a while before we see another UK tour from the guys though. Venue was pretty empty (hence my free tickets probably) and they’ve been around recently.

Later days,
Halo.
