Don’t know missed ’em

I’ve never been to the Shepherd’s Bush Empire before and I’ve never seen The Undertones (not a massive fan and don’t know too much about them). However is a big fan and loves their old stuff (i.e. most of their stuff) so as she was over I grabbed two tickets and we went along.

For once we were not the oldest at a gig, we could have been the youngest easily. It was a bit strange though I mean they are singing 70s punk songs written by young guys and recorded by young guys so it was a bit weird seeing these guys close to my father’s age bashing away at these old tunes. Not that they didn’t have energy just they are singing teenage kicks, here comes the summer et al and it just looks wrong. The rest of the audience (and Sarah) were happy and they did play some new stuff (album out the Monday after the show) so I can’t fault them. I would go again with Sarah but probably not on my own. The empire is a nice venue though, would be great to see a big band rock the place.

Later days,
Halo
