Imperial Leisure at Camden Barfly Sep 2007

Imperial Leisure, Sun, 09 Sep 2007 17:57:01, Camden Barfly, London, The Event on Last.fm.

From my gig review post:

Support:
Someone I don’t know
Fox Cubs

I love the Barfly, it’s almost the epitome of the the dark, dank club venue. Sarah and I went long to this on spec, I thought it might be sold out but unsurprisingly it wasn’t so we wandered on in and caught the main support act Fox Cubs. They were meh.

After them were the band of the moment, I love these guys, Imperial Leisure. They are always on fire but tonight there was a certain punch missing from the sound. It didn’t dampen the crowd’s spirit and it didn’t make too much of a difference to the night. They were definitely loving it up there and the tunes were great, including the new ones. They then announced they were playing for free the next day 😛 (not too annoyed we turned up and it was rammed and didn’t get in). It was a great gig and I will still be making it to every show of theirs I can.

Unusually they had merch at the show, CDs and t-shirts. I grabbed one of each. It was the "Imperial Leisure Are Average" EP and a t-shirt which said "Imperial Leisure Are Average" savage.

Later days,
Halo.
