Enjoy eternal bliss

Al was over went to see Bill Bailey three nights in a row, fricking rocked, changed it up a bit each night as he is still massaging this new show Steampunk. If you get a chance get into one of his shows soon, there’s talk of an arena tour next year :-(. We also went to the Great British Beer Festival which was fun.

Uxfest yesterday was pretty F*ing cool. Only issue was a lack of readmission so I was not being stuck in that place all day so only went in at 7 and caught Exit Ten, King Size Blues, BioMechanical, Murder One and Skindred, full report to follow (along with Alice In Chains and Twin Zero). Actually one of the best bands I saw that day weren’t even playing Uxfest. Imperial Leisure played an impromptu set on the street and it was great rock/ragga/ska stuff. I’ve never heard of them before but their EP is available for download so I’ll be doing that. I jjust saw Sarah and I got into their pictures from that gig here and here.

Almost forgot to buy KsE tickets on Friday. They’re playing the Underworld in Camden, which is definitely too small for them but it is a special Kerrang show so it is all good. More uber cool gigness coming up with the Day of Rock in Virgin Megastore a free event featuring Sikth and Arch Enemy. There are more but I don’t like ’em. If you wear a Sikth t-shirt to it they will give you a free one, and I own two but guess what…. they’re both in Dublin, what are the chances? Skindred have semi announced a UK tour i.e. I can buy tickets for their show in the Underworld but I’m in Nottingham with work(probably going to see Breed77 there that night anywho). So going to have a look see if any of their other shows are easy to get to, unlikely but ya never know all I need is a Friday/Saturday night show between here and Birmingham(or even Brighton) and it’s possible.

Got New Super Mario Bros. for £20 (less if you can find a good affiliate link). Been playing it since Friday it is a good bit of fun, of course Sarah is complaining but that’ll teach her.

Stolen:(and modified)

After digging to a depth of 100m last year, Russian scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago.

Not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200m and headlines in the US papers read: â??US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old OPTICAL FIBRES, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telecommunications 1000 years earlier than the Russians.â?

One week later, the Irish newspapers reported the following: â??After digging as deep as 500m, Irish scientists have found absolutely NOTHING. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, their Ancestors were already using WIRELESS technology.

Read this on another Blog that was pointed by Podz:

I got some new toys. First up is a Beretta 92FS INOX 9mm pistol. My first firearm, intended for home defense. Itâ??s a little bulky for carry, so Iâ??ll likely be getting something smaller for portable protection. Maybe a Kahr PM9, which would be able to share ammo. Iâ??m quite happy with the Beretta, though. Very well made, feels sturdy, is quite safe, holds 15+1 rounds, and has a good damage to kick ratio. It is a bit too big for Sarah, but she was still able to shoot it. Iâ??ve put about 900 rounds through it so it should be worn in. I hope I never have to use it, and if I do, I hope I donâ??t have to fire it, but it makes me feel safer knowing that it is there if I need it.

I’m sorry? A 9mm Baretta is a FREAKING TOY!!! Oh yeah but it’s only for home defence and they’ll get something else for portable protection?!? They may feel safer knowing it’s there but I feel safer knowing I don’t live in the same country as this moron.

Link of the day: I want one.

Later Days,
Halo
