Hey it’s been a while and I’ve actually done a bit since the last time we talked. Lets see:
Three gigs
Three Birthday party( one being an 18th, don’t ask I was young at this one :-?)
Two trips; One to Edinburgh 😀 and the other to Geneva \m/
Four mates hanging out (Grainne, Dave X2 and Benton)
Two parties (one great house party one birthday with an atrocious covers band)
One interesting lecture from Microsoft on the impact computer science (not computing) can have on the biological sciences

As you can see my backlog of gig reviews is getting dealt with slowly(last three posts) and hopefully the three outstanding ones will get done before my next half planned one (Dragonforce in Dublin) and for anyone interested I’m on target for 52 gigs this year despite the rescheduling of Hundred Reasons and the cancellation (i.e. splitting up) of The Abominable Iron Sloth.

Quick note on all of the above in order of occurence:
Grainne was over a few weekends ago and we went on a bit of a bender on the Friday(it was 5am before we got home). It was great to see here again but man it almost wiped out Saturday.

Only almost as the 18th was that night. It’s my mate J’s girlfriend who turned 18 so a load of us went to Ben Crouches in town and somehow I was able to stay out till 3am 😕 It helped that the club we ended up going to had our mate Dave as DJ and he played some great stuff including Bad Habit by The Offspring. Due to the state of J one of his friends had to crash in mine but no skin of my nose he was well gone by the time I got up the next day. Will I ever get any sleep?

The next week was our collaboration meeting in EDINBURGH so I got to visit one of my favourite cities (better than: London, worse than: Glasgow) and see Clare, Eoghain and Des who live up there at the mo. (well Clare probably lives in Holland by now actually).That was an early night I wasn’t so lucky the second one as I ended up hooking up with collaboration members so it was a little late and a lot of pints by the time I saw a bed but it’s Edinburgh :-D!!!!

The next weekend was quiet and I caught up on sleep exceopt for the drinking session on Friday with the guys from work, which in true British style even took in a curry. It started all over again with a work trip to CERN to sort out an LHC@home thing which coincided with Helen (our intern)’s birthday so we went out on the Tuesday night and Alex(guy I work with) and I not actually getting any food but plenty of drink (I may have a problem). We took it easy the next night but as soon as I got home from there Dave who I used to work with in HMV turned up and the messy roundabout started again. Friday house party till 4 in Shonagh’s, Saturday birthday party in The Hobgoblin(with the HORRIBLE covers band), Sunday was The Globe, Tate Modern and The Design Museum and the PDHM later that night. It was fun Dave and Benton were good fun and good house guests and we also got to hang out with another Dave from HMV on the Friday night who I will meet up for a proper less messy pint sometime.

This week has been quiet so far have a presentation to give tomorrow in Royal Holloway and maybe a gig, Aerogramme, if I can get back in time for it. The Thursday is packing for my trip back to see my Boo in Dublin (and maybe Dragonforce, Al, my parents and get a Stand Up Guy tshirt a friend has bought for me). I need to get the Tenny D album too’ll get T-Bob to get it I suppose.

After this week the real hectic starts I have before my flight to Dublin on the 24th of Dec:

Xmas should be spent asleep but T-Bob should have grabbed me a Wii in HMV so Xmas will be trying to not be stuck to that.

I’m tired, I’m outta here. More reviews tomorrow if I don’t go to Aerogramme.
