Worst.post.ever

Woah I’ve been pretty busy lately with gigs (reviews below), volunteering (it’s great craic no matter how weird it sounds), the gym (I didn’t get this figure by eating shedloads of chocolate, oh wait I did that was the problem) and Sarah was over for the last time before I return to Ireland for Xmas. The weekend with her was great, two gigs in one day (would have been 3 in 2 but Man Must Die cancelled their tour much to Sarah’s disappointment :-P). When she’s over we actually try to do very little and just hang out and stuff though we did get brunch at Smith’s of Smithfield which was nice, porter and a bloody mary to start the day before some great pancakes.

I also learned Era Vulgaris those classy prog thrash guys (who’s bassist I used to work with) are moving to London in February so I’ll have an Irish rock posse here in Lahndahn tahn. In other rock news I have secured tickets for Megadeth in Brixton, The Smashing Pumpkins in the O2, Eels in the Royal Festival Hall. All in 2008 and tempted by The Pumpkins in the RDS back home in Dublin. However that is all of secondary concern as Iron Maiden are playing one UK date (does that include Ireland I never know with the British) at Twickenham and it’s meant to be transformed into some kind of rock/metal/Iron Maiden Valhalla for the day so I need to get tickets for that. Hopefully there will be an RDS date or something as well but Paris is looking tempting too, I mean I could just get the Eurostar from St Pancras with its new high speed rail link to the continent. Also wait till I get the Chthonic papercraft they were selling it is hilarious, the band in cardboard, twas only a fiver.

In more geeky news, I really need to get Super Mario Galaxy and Phantom Hourglass, anyone still work in HMV so I can get a little bit of a discount? :-D. I’ve almost finished Wario: Master of Disguise, it’s a grand little platformer, easy enough but entertaining. I also got me Wii-mote jackets from Nintendo, they’re OK but don’t fit into the charging station so they sit beside the Wii and get fitted when I remember to. Actually looking online (and the BBC news FFS) the Wii is still in short supply, they must be rolling in dosh at this stage, backstards.

Never got the SVN set up on this blog/alchemist cafe, might try at the weekend if I could be arsed. It would be kinda cool (in a geeky way) I’d feel just that little bit more nerd.

Anyway I’m going to go, drop me a comment just to prove I’m not talking to myself (I can pretend I’m not anyway). Although I do get random comments from people on my gig review posts actually which is nice. Also I’m back at Xmas from the 22nd of Dec to the 7th of Jan so if you want to meet up leave a comment/email/text/ring me.

Later days,
Halo.
