In agony

So I’m sitting in today. Was going to have a cinema marathon but they’ve worked out that my direct debit had stopped (eventually) so need to sign up again for it. It was a bit disappointing as I don’t think I can play the Wii at the mo as I was coming home last night after a few pints with J (like 4 so wasn’t drunk) and when going down the stairs to the DLR I was going too fast and caught the fingers of my left hand behind the piece that holds the rail to the wall and it is really, really painful to move it. There is no bruising so think I’ve just sprained it, will be keeping it very still though and try and see a Doc tomorrow (there’s a very useful walk-in clinic near work where I went when my right ear got blocked).

In other news I’m flying through Super Mario Galaxy. Started it last Monday (played like ten minutes that day) and now have 60 out of 150 Stars but you only need 60 to finish the game though. It’s bloody great craic too, got a Wii? Got to get it. I also borrowed Super Paper Mario off Al which I’m looking forward too after them I still have to finish Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of time and to start LoZ: Majora’s Mask, Windwaker, the original LoZ and it’s sequel. I bought LoZ: Phantom Hourglass for the DS before Xmas and finished it on the flight to Budapest, it is an animal game and well worth playing. The stylus controls become second nature very quickly.

While at home I picked up a UK to US voltage converter so I was able to have a go on my Virtual Boy, must be 10 years since I last played it. Still good craic if a bit weird obviously. I got a chance to play a PS3 in full HD glory on a 42" screen. It was kind of pretty but I did just play FIFA 2008. I’d be kind of tempted to get a 360 or a PS3 but they haven’t got any games that really appeal to me at the moment and I am leaning towards the 360 as it has a 120GB hard drive, HDMI and backwards compatibility. I may just buy some vintage consoles though like the NES, SNES, Gameboy Color (sic) and play the classics as they were originally intended. You can get a hybrid machine which plays NES and SNES so may look into that.

As we reach 12 months here in the East End it is time to move back to the Brixton area (thank fuck) so went flat hunting yesterday had 6 appointments in total, cancelled one on the day (it was in Clapham South?) and the final one the agent didn’t turn up. So saw 4 flats; 2 in Brixton and 2 in Stockwell. In the end 2 were a joke you wouldn’t rent then to a dog, 1 was OK but the third room was a shoebox, the last one was well plush so we took it. It’s in Stockwell, 1 minute from that station and a 10 minute walk from the centre of Brixton (and the Academy :-D). Pending references etc we move in at the end of the month and get back to "Sarf Lahdahn". Time to cancel BT etc and sort out a annual ticket for the tube.

Later days,
Halo.
