Well Friday went well. It was an all girls school of 5th class kids so no fecking rowdy little male bastards trying to impress or somet. It was 4 50 minute sessions with the biggest group being 7 and it all ran smoothly.
The Alchemist Cafe also got a new speaker lined up thanks to me, that won’t be till July/August but it’s good to be organised. On a musical note have Eels this week on the live front. The new album is great want ya want from E et al. Downbeat, subtle but happy sounding (only) tunes. Picked up the new NIN(Nine Inch Nails) record I like it. It is a good mix of The Fragile and Pretty Hate Machine with the good elements of Downward Spiral(my least favourite NIN album) thrown in. The title track “With Teeth” aint great though. Currently however RSH’s new is still rocking my ears but picked up the This Is Menace album it features members of Pitchshifter primarily with vocal duties performed by members of Sikth, Carcass, Amen, Funeral For A Friend, Hiding Place, Therapy?, Hundred Reasons and Earthtone9. Given it one spin so far not as heavy as I usually get with new acts but I think I may like it.
