Anchor The Sun

Well I have returned from Oxegen, it was fun weather was nice. I got to see GreenDay(same set as The point but still enjoyable), Kerbdog, Foo Fighters, The Frames and Queens Of The Stone Age.
Most importantly I got to see Tom Morello + Arm The Homeless Guitar play Bulls On Parade (Instrumental NO vocals from Cornell). This guitar had been officially retired by Tom. He then followed by playing Sleep Now In The Fire with Cornell on vocals and finished their set with Killing In The Name again with Cornell not that you could hear him over the crowd. Of course this was all during Audioslave’s set. Cornell also played Black Hole Sun acoustically solo-style and the entire group played Spoon Man. The rest of the set was 2 new Slave tracks and maybe 3/4 from their first record. It was a fun set but is that because of the RATM/Soundgarden stuff? When they headline(Sunday was only a 30min set) here again I’ll be there to see can they survive under the weight of now playing RATM and Soundgarden stuff :?.
Everyone else listed above was well entertaining. Foos ripped thorugh their set like they were on fire and got to see the one thing I have never seen.
This man David Grohl actually playing drums I’ve seen him in drum battles with Taylor but this time he actually played a song with Taylor singing :-D. Also caught Death From Above 1979 who did impress live but don’t think the album will live upto my expecatations from a two piece with a drummer/vocalist and a bassis/sampler i.e. it won’t be dirty, scuzzy or groove laden enough.
Sarah’s only got less than 3 weeks left in her job and then she’s home free to start college but before that will be our UK tour and probably a trip to Sligo to see her relatives. Still hyped about seeing PUSA eventually and it could be my next gig unless something local comes up that spurs me into paying for it i.e. Stand Up Guy, Steel Tormentor, Scavenger and Residual Effect all on the one bill.
Hey ho back to HMV tomorrow, still have a pile of must buy CDs ranging from the new Foos to Dio’s Holy Diver, :?.

Later Days,
Halo
