Hey, hey, been busy since the last post. A whole week which included Sarah over last weekend which was great, we got a little drunk on Friday so Saturday was a late start but we went out and hung around the centre of London. Popped into Hamley’s, the toy shop, Sarah loved it. Other destinations included Covent Garden, Soho and The Apple Store, nice.
Before that the week was pretty quiet just working really. This week is a bit more hectic, been in the Royal Society being given some media training. The teachers were none other than the husband and wife team of Judith Hann and John Exelby. It was really good fun and informative.
Tuesday was strange though, everyone was on strike over something to do with pay from two years ago. So there was no one else in so just did my thing and got out. Just call me Scab “Black Leg” O’Neill 😀
Today was a bit of fun, got some work done, had a phone meeting with boss, lunch and then did some learning. I’m doing a course on XHTML and CSS, only done the XHTML part so far but will help with some things I do and being compliant with current W3C standards so Alchemist cafe will get an overhaul but you probably won’t see any difference.
My “living in the UK” boss also loaned me a book on PHP4 which I’ve skimmed through and has given me some half ideas about what I can do to improve the above mentioned website but again no change in the look likely just the setup behind the scenes.
It’s the St Patricks Day festival in London this weekend and we may be ironic and go 🙂 but ya never know we may not.
Link Of The Day:
Web Developer Toolbar. For Firefox, Flock, Mozilla and Seamonkey. It’s a toolbar the guy giving the XHTML course showed use lets you validate XHTML, disable CSS and a load of other things. Giving it a go in a second could be handy. If I start to use it I’ll probably only have it on the Mac.
Later Days,
Halo.
Awww, look at you all learning loike 🙂
Such a good source of scab labour
PHP and CSS are tools of the devil. Use at your peril. You get your mac?
Tools of the devil? Have you seen your website? Is that built from sticky back plastic and lollipop sticks?
No aint got my Mac yet the cunts who are meant to be sending me money I’m owed haven’t, hopefully it will appear soon and then about three days later I’ll have a Mac, just need to know where to get it delivered. Delivered to house I may not be in, delivered to work means I have to carry it thorugh Mile End then a 40 min tube journey and finally a 10 minute walk through Brixton to my house. Thinking I’ll get id delivered to my mates work as he drives to and from work.
By the way that toolbar link is aimed at you two it is a nice piece of kit has loads of tools including the ability to turn off any page’s CSS or look at the CSS to find out how they did things.
Unlike you, I dont make mistakes. Anything I create is always 100% standards compliant, cross-browser, and bug-free… (HA, like that’s possible) right from the start.
Everyone always thinks PHP is fun and cool in the beginning, but learn the truth eventually.
Would it not be possible to get a taxi home from work if you got the iMac delivered there?
A taxi from Mile End? Possible? yes, cheap? Not likely! Will check it out though.
It’s not that I make mistakes it’s just cobbling sites together from my scattered HTML knowledge causes hassle. The idea behind me doing XHTML is so I understand the standard that browsers use. Also my PHP will only be include statements similar to what I use at the mo nothing mental.
excuse me ” we got a little drunk “. i assume you’re talking about yourself and sean shaking your asses on the dance floor. Sarah had stopped drinking at pint no. 4 thank you very much. Sully my good name **why i oughta**
