Now you’re talking my language

Busy day yesterday for a Friday. Been a busy enough week actually. I spent the first half of the day chasing those poster templates I was talking about and trying to design a power point design template for our talks from the basic design. I think it looks well but we’ll see what the powers that be think. The other task was(among other things) an RSS feed for the website. I’m pretty sure I’ve gots it sorted now. I just need a little help, do any of you use RSS and all that junk? Well head to http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/php/test.php and do what you would usually do to get a sites RSS. It should work with mail programs that read RSS, RSS plugins for your browser and there is also a live bookmark (funny orange square in the URL box at the top of firefox). So just leave a comment here telling me if it works and what you see (i.e. what are the items in the feed).
I’m off to Swindon on Monday for work to see people from PPARC (Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council) so that will be a bit of a laugh I suppose. Besides PitchShifter on Friday next week will be quiet my evenings will probably be filled with trying to set up the wireless router I ordered!
I don’t know how many of you woudl of seen this(I didn’t to be honest) but ITV4 showed an episode of Clerks The Animated Series on Wednesday night. It was the first they showed but not the first episode and it was meant to be on at 10:30 but was moved to 12:45. So far so just like how the Americans dealt with it, I mean it is only six episodes do you think they can show them all and in order? I have the series on NTSC VHS which doesn’t play on our VCR so trying to download a bit torrent of it which will take awhile(first estimate was 17 days, but it’s getting better).
The best/wierdest news I had this week is I’m off to CERN next month. They’re flying me to Geneva for some EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE, what a forced acronym eh?) meeting. The mad thing is I’m in Warwick the day before so I’ve to get from Warwick to London on the evening of the 11th and fly to Geneva on the 12th. I’ve got accommodation soretd just need to buy flights.
Actually I’m writing this with a new haircut, headed out this morning and just picked a random barbers. As usual it’s a 2 all over but this guy put edges in to it. It’s different anyway and better than the mop I had!
Well I’m off to think about something to do today, cinema might be my destination tomorrow.
