A Fun Day Out

After my weekend of fun with young Sarah Keogh, Alastair J came to visit this weekend. I aint seen him since his part in January apparently 😕 even though I’ve been home plenty of times since then. It was cool and we went out on the piss on Friday (horribly drunk was I, Mario Kart just doesn’t work). On Staurday we hung put with Al’s mates Podz (who is NOT a geek, he can’t be he doesn’t have a Mac or Linux box and likes the PSP), George (a girl known only as B.R.I. online who now uses FireFox), Caitlin(complete nut job, in a good way) and Claire (our guide for the day :-D). It was cool to meet all of them, some (Podz) travelled from Lions Eat Ice Cream Everyday Sometimes Tigers Eat Rice which is cool but by bus 😕 (about three hours). I started feeling the effects of the night before’s beer in our second pub so got quiet and then it started to rain (I was only in a t-shirt, no hoodie) but finished the day off in The Crobar, London’s premier rock hang out, but no pool, sorry George.

EDIT: Podz has a gallery of the day at http://www.tamba2.org.uk/photo/london-may-2006

In other news I eventually bought Nirvana’s Unplugged only because I stumbled upon the fact I hadn’t already which I thought was just too much of an oversight. It was picked up along with Tool’s new album “10,000 Days”, The Beatles “Let It Be Naked” (a demixed version of the underrated gem) and The Artic Monkey’s new EP which is good and shows they have range.

The weekend with Sarah was great, so relaxing, if a little alcohol fuelled(please Sarah do not tell me how many empty bottles are in your shed). I did nothing really while over, was only home with the folks for maybe 6 hours, just didn’t want to do anything but see Sarah.

Actually while Al was over we were going to go to Metal: A Headbangers Journey but it’s been pulled from the Roxy here for some reason, the Odeon in central London is still showing it so I may break the bank and go see that during the week. I still need to write up the two Sub Rosa(Shonagh’s band) gigs I went to they may get done before I write up the Sounds Of The Underground tour feat. Chimaira on Friday (Sarah’s birthday for anyone interested :-)). The week after is gigtastic with Caffeine and three PUSA gigs. I actually have a few gigs lined up until the next year:

Friday May 12 Sounds Of The Underground – Kentish Town Forum
Tuesday May 16 Caffeine – Camden Underworld*
Friday May 19 Presidents Of The United States Of America – Birmingham Academy
Saturday May 20 Presidents Of The United States Of America – Astoria, London

Tuesday Jun 6 Viking Skull – Garage, London

Friday Dec 15 Iron Maiden – SECC Glasgow
Wednesday Dec 20 Iron Maiden – The Point, Dublin
Friday Dec 22 Iron Maiden – Earls Court, London
Saturday Dec 23 Iron Maiden – Earl’s Court, London
* = No ticket yet

Also apparently the post summer period is nutso for tours in London so many more gigs will be added to that list. Anyone fancy any of these? I definitely need to get a posse together for Damnation in Manchester, but what ya think 5 Maiden dates a little overkill? Tee hee I’m going Bruce Air as soon as one is announced so at least 6 on this tour, and the album is all done!

I’m gone swear, I’ll update again soon.

Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Link Of The Day: Kingdom Of Loathing Podz mentioned it on Saturday and it has been getting a bit of publicity recently due to a wannabe cannibal playing it.

Later Days,
Halo.
