Woo-hoo the ‘Horn!!! Yes it’s the time again a Raging Speedhorn tour. It’s actually been 2 years since a proper RSH tour (just after the release of How The Great Have Fallen) but now they have a new album and a new line up (3 out of 6 are the original line up) so this would be a new experience.
Since it was Speedhorn date that means my "crew" would be there (OK just Ian and Gurdy) but sadly this happened to Ian so he couldn’t make it. Gurdy didn’t disappoint and we headed on in more or less skipping the support (I sort of wanted to see Shaped By Fate but hadn’t seen Gurdy in ages). The guys were hanging around so got them to sign the new album and met the new guy (bass, Jay’s brother) who we hadn’t seen live yet. The guys were in a good mood and well up for the gig, it was great to see them again.
But how was the gig? I hear you cry. It was animal! The guys were great. RSH have always been a great live prospect and watching this new lineup it was like the old days before the issues they’ve been through. Seeing Bloody Kev finally get to stretch himself with his own tunes was great and they did the older stuff justice. It also seems to have given them a chance to ditch Thumper and The Gush from the the setlist but keep Knives & Faces and The Hate Song. We even got treated to a full version of High Whore to finish.
There was one slight problem though. I did get some animal shots of the guys live but when Kev went crowd surfing and I was down front and helped him along this happened. I have since got an identical replacement from eBay but it’s just not the same anyway here’s the Setlist:
