I don’t know missed them

Back again in ULU, a week after Juliette Lewis. Nice venue and timing was better this time with me getting, my bag stowed and into the venue mere seconds before The Frames took the stage.

The crowd was that strange(for me) crowd I only see at these “rock”, acoustic, folk, singer/songwriter shows I’m fond of i.e. trendy scum. Most seem more interested in chatting than listening and due to the nature of the music you can hear them. The set was a great mix of stuff though, the new album aint technically out in the UK but they still played stuff off it as if it had been released. Mixed in with old stuff it works very well and I enjoy the album so much more now.

Moving from old to new the guys never lost momentum despite the gremlins best efforts during the first 3 songs. A highlight for me was Glen playing Mic Christopher’s HeyDay on an acoustic guitar which was not miked up so the entire crowd had to shut up(which they did). I thought I had copied down the set list for this but mind seems to be playing tricks (or I deleted it before typing this up) so I’ll just leave you with the comment that no matter what era you come from they played your favourite song.

Later days,
Halo.
