Well that was a long weekend, literally as Monday was a bank holiday here :-D. It was also my last solo weekend in London for a few months next week I’m off to Dublin for a wedding 😕 but Sarah is returning to London with me to co-habit with me for the summer 8).

Well what did I do with that glorious long, bank holiday weekend? Nothing really. Folks we’re over so went for dinner with the Thursday and Saturday. Thought I was going to Primordial and Mourning Beloveth on Friday but just as I got to the venue (Elektorwerkz in Islington) I remembered it was on Saturday so in the end skipped it. Saturday day I did pretty much nothing, I can’t even remember anything other than dinner .
Sunday was fun though I was kinda meant to have lunch with the folks but they couldn’t decide on anywhere so I just downloaded Scummvm which is, I quote, a

program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the game, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!

This means I can play Monkey Island and the Lucas Arts’ back catalogue but note the provided you already have their data files bit. Yeah I don’t and it is *cough, cough* illegal to download most of them as they are still under licence BUT help is at hand two classics “Beneath A Steel Sky” and “Flight Of The Amazon Queen” are available freeware so I downloaded them. Played “Beneath …” till I finished it so still have to tackle “Flight …”. I will get that done then see if I can buy the others, especially Monkey Island, cheaply on eBay. Actually Scummvm has been ported to the DS but you need a load of home brew stuff so I may wait till I have my Lite and mess with the old model, we’ll see.

Monday I went to see X-Men: The Last Stand. It is good not as good as X2 but as good as 1. It does kind of end with an opening but trust me when you see what they did in the rest of the film there is no way they could do a sequel on this time line really, i.e. they’ll have to do a Batman Begins and ignore the 3 films. In the evening I saw bits of Grizzly Man, a film about a freak who lived with bears and obviously had emotional issues and problems, don’t pay to see it. I also watched “The Hamster” Richard Hammond on the trail of the Grail, another DaVinci code band wagon show, had nuggets of info but noth great but did have music form Kila on it. I also baked brownies as mum gave me a baking tray and correct size baking sheets (thanks). To be honest they were gorgeous and could not be accused of being dry but I do need better measuring things. All we have is a pyrex jug which doesn’t have small enough graduations so I’ll pick up some measuing spoons when I’m in Tesco or Woolworths.

I also update my “Currently Enjoying” panel on the left, I was using a links category but that was messy so I deleted that category and am now using the Amazon Media Manager which took a little effort to get working but now I got how it works and it is skippy.

This is what I’ve been working on for the last two weeks, pretty?

My Gallery seems to have disappeared, that could be a problem, should have backed it up, just hope they’re there just invisible to my gallery plugin. They are there just something has been changed and I think it is a hosting thing, AL!!!!!

Link Of The Day: Full details of the Bruce Air flight I’m going on :-D.

Later Days,
Halo.
